2025 Globe 580 Transat Tracker Update by Frank

Hey it’s been a whirlwind here in Les Sables d’Olonne with the Vendee arriving. I hope you’re all having a relaxing weekend!

Let’s dive into the exciting race developments:

🚀 Racing Updates:

The fleet is flying with several sailors posting 130-140 mile days! Renault and Origami are leading with impressive speeds, closely chased by the rest of the pack.

Weather-wise, the forecast remains steady with the Azores high influencing conditions to bring southeasterly winds. We might see slightly calmer seas than expected, which could allow our sailors to push even harder.

🌐 Tracker Insights:

Jasmine is holding steady with a 98 mile day at 4.8 knots. She’s taking it easy and staying safe.

Popeye knocked out a 121-mile day, maintaining a strong pace in the race.

Peter Punk and Little Wren are showing great resilience and skill, both posting solid mile days and keeping up with the front runners.

Renaud – Leading with impressive speed, consistently posting around 134 miles per day. Showing strong performance in the current wind conditions.

Origami – Close on Renault’s heels with a 137-mile day. Maintaining high speeds and excellent navigation, staying competitive at the top of the fleet.

Argo – A bit slower than expected with 108 miles, suggesting potential issues or conservative sailing. Watching for updates on his progress.

Delja 100 (John) – Having a good run with a 128-mile day, finding his rhythm and pushing towards the front pack.

Biggest Monkey – Among the fastest today with 139 miles at six knots. Energetically pursuing the leaders and looking to make significant gains.

Little Bea – Consistent with a 125-mile day at 5.8 knots, maintaining a strong middle-pack position and looking competitive.

Dan (Holiday Dan) – Performing solidly with a 117-mile day at a speed of 5.2 knots. He’s managing to maintain a good pace and staying consistent in his performance across the race.

Jakub is doing well in the Globe 580 Transat 2025, having clocked a solid 121-mile day at a speed of 4.6 knots.

The weather forecast shows a mix of conditions but predominantly fast sailing conditions for the coming days.

🎥 Behind the Scenes:

I’ve had some interesting chocolate mint-fueled reminders today about the dedication and spirit of our racers (yes, even my chocolate wrappers serve as notepads!). There’s a fantastic volunteer opportunity to help manage social media for one of our racers, Adam on Little Wren. If you’ve got a knack for social updates and want to get involved, contact us!
