Class Globe 5.80 founder and competitor Don McIntyre with his “Trekka” (Hull 01) crossed the finish line in third position on the morning of the 15th December 2021. Don and Peter Kenyon (Hull 47 “Origami”) had been racing close quarters since taking the eastern option along the west African coast at the start of the race, but Don extended his lead over the last few days.
Don won the seniors division in 28 days (as the only senior entered) aboard “Trekka”.
